Update: Slight Injury, Healed?

Monday, May 12th, 2008

Well, seems as though my slight injury (which turned out not to be so slight) is about, I’d say, 90% healed. I played today without having to struggle at all with it, in fact I had, what felt like, all my power back on my backhand side.

It was nice to rip a few backhands today. :)

Still don’t know what quite triggered the pain, but all I know is I’m glad I didn’t have any trouble with it today! All the nursing, taking time off, and icing must have helped. It’s not even stiff, although it was stiff this morning, seems to be fine now.

So, yeah, there’s my update. Hopefully my last one, goodnight. :)

Update: Slight Injury

Friday, May 9th, 2008

Well, it’s been few weeks since I told you about my slight injury, and to this day, it’s still bugging me! It’s not as intense as before (a good sign), but it still is stiff throughout the day, and really makes tennis uncomfortable to play, and if given long enough, it can become too painful to play.

I think it may be getting better, and I think it may have been caused by me changing my dampener on my racquet. Although, I never thought that would make a difference, since moving back to my old one, which dampens more, my arm has been getting better; although it is not all the way better! It may have had something to do with my serve, which for the last few months I have been, technically, executing entirely wrong.

I was hitting serves today, and noticed I wasn’t putting my knees into the serve first, and was bringing my head down too soon.

It’s just annoying! I want to go out there and practice, get better, perform a little - but instead, I feel weak and helpless after about an hour. I just really wish I knew what is/was causing this little pain in my arm. I don’t want to be doing or do it again, but I just don’t know what it really is. In fact, it’s making typing sort of irritating to type.

But, hopefully it will continue to get better, or at least I will try more icing and/or taking more time off. But, of course, I’d rather not take any more time off.

I’m done whining.
